53 Dock is run by 53DOCK LLC, a Washington limited liability company ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Short version: we only collect what the app needs to work. We do not track your location, we do not sell anything about you, and you can delete your account and everything you wrote from inside the app.
This matters more than anything else here, so it comes first.
Public — anyone using the app can see this, signed in or not:
Private — never shown to other drivers:
A facility you review can see the review. They cannot see your email address, and we will not tell them who you are.
When you create an account: your email address, a password, and the display name you pick. Email is used to confirm the account, to reset your password, and to reach you if something goes wrong with your account. Nothing else.
When you write a review: the rating, the load or unload time you selected, whether you were on time, whether it was loading or unloading, any optional answers you gave (entrance, backing, blind side, lumper fee, restrooms, overnight parking), and your comment if you wrote one.
When you use the app at all, whether signed in or not, we record a small number of events so we can tell whether the app is working: the app being opened, a search being made, a facility page being opened, a review being started and finished. Each event carries a random ID generated once on your device — not your name, not your email, not your phone number. We use it to follow one anonymous journey through the app and to stop a single device overwhelming our search allowance.
Searches are recorded so we can see which docks drivers want that we do not have yet. Search text is stored with the anonymous device ID, never with your account.
When you report a review: which review, and the reason you picked. If you are signed in the report is linked to your account; either way it carries the anonymous device ID, so one phone cannot report the same review over and over. Reports are private. The facility does not see them, and neither does the driver who wrote the review.
We do not collect: your location, your contacts, your photos, payment details, your phone number, your carrier, your truck, or your loads.
Three companies process data on our behalf. We do not sell your information to anyone, and we do not run advertising.
| Who | What they get | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Everything above. Stored in the United States. | Runs our database, accounts and sign-in. |
| Google (Places API) | The text you type when searching for a dock we do not have yet. | Finds facilities that are not in 53 Dock. Sent without your name, email or device ID. |
| Resend | Your email address, when we send you a confirmation or password reset. | Sends those emails. |
We only share data with companies that protect it at least as well as this policy does, and only so they can provide their service to us.
We will hand over information if the law requires it — a court order or a lawful request from law enforcement. If that happens and we are allowed to tell you, we will.
Open Account → Delete my account. It happens immediately and cannot be undone.
No longer have the app? Email privacy@53dock.com from the email address on your account and ask for it to be deleted. We will delete it, and everything described below, within 30 days, and reply to confirm.
Deleting your account also deletes every review you have written. The ratings and times in those reviews stop counting toward any facility's averages. That is unusual — most apps keep your content — and it is deliberate: what you wrote is yours.
One exception: if you added a facility that was missing, the facility itself stays, because other drivers now rely on it. Your name comes off it and it is no longer connected to you in any way.
You can also delete a single review at any time without deleting your account.
Wherever you live, you can:
If you are in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to have it deleted, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of.
If you are in Canada or the EU/UK, you additionally have the right to a copy of your data in a portable form and to object to processing. Email us and we will sort it out.
To exercise any of these, email privacy@53dock.com.
53 Dock is for working commercial drivers and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.
Passwords are hashed — we cannot read them and neither can anyone who gets hold of our database. Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted. Access to the database is restricted by rules that stop one driver reading or changing another driver's data, enforced by the database itself rather than by the app.
No system is perfect. If we ever discover a breach affecting your personal information, we will tell you and any regulator we are required to notify.
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
